Relax,,,,,,,Your're on Island Time

                                                                           

                                                                           Hello everyone,

                                                Here on our little Island (Prince Edward Island)
                                                where time seems to go at a more relaxed pace,
                                               we are enjoying some perfect summer days.

                                                    I love this little pillow that I found in a small
                                                   shop in the lovely little town of Georgetown.
                                                   The shop is in a new colorful building just coming
                                                   into Georgetown and they had more for $19 as well
                                                  as some other pretty pillows etc.
                                                  Georgetown is such a pretty place to go in summer.

                                                                   It is perfect for our boathouse ...love
                                                                   the color but also the embroidered
                                                                   Relax....your're on Island Time.

                                                                             

                                                                                   

                                                    Hope you have some time to relax and if
                                                              you are on the Island why not head to the
                                                              beach for awhile. There is nothing more
                                                              relaxing then the sound of the waves lapping
                                                             on the shore and the occasional cry of the
                                                             seagulls.

A Painterly Effect

                                                                              Hello everyone,

                                                                 I hope you all had a wonderful
                                                                 weekend. The weather was beautiful
                                                                and we made the best of it. We enjoyed
                                                                an evening stroll on the beach,breakfast
                                                                sitting out over the water in Victoria by
                                                                the sea on Saturday. Brunch on Sunday
                                                                at Sir Andrew Mac Phails,  a beautiful
                                                                afternoon in Georgetown and some
                                                                down time in the boathouse.Love these
                                                                perfect summer days........a
                                                               great way to welcome August!

I was going to share a tour of the garden

but these shots caught my eye.

                                       

                                                                    I think they have a painterly effect.......
                                                                    too bad I can't paint!

                                                                      The clematis and delphiniums look
                                                                       so pretty together.

                                                                        A geranium and daylily with a
                                                                        bokeh  effect.

                                                                         I am quite sure you can never have
                                                                         too many clematis in the garden.

Your invited: Garden Party Tea

                                                                            Hello everyone,

                                                             I am planning to have my annual fundraiser
                                                             tea again this year on Friday, August 7th.
                                                             There will be a 10 am tea and a second
                                                             tea at 2 pm.

                                                                                                                                                                       
                                               

The theme for the tea this year is

Linens & Lace.

Of course, it is not necessary to

wear linen or lace but fun

if you do!

                                                                      Tea and dessert will be served
                                                                      on our covered screened porch.

I will be digging out all my

linens and lace for the tables.

                                                                    The tour includes a tour of our
                                                                    little Boathouse.

                                                           And tour our Gardener's Cottage.

                                                                           

                                                              Stroll through the gardens

                                                                               

                                                               I am hoping for a sunny day but the tour
                                                              will be held rain or shine so please bring
                                                              an umbrella if it is raining.
   

                                                                    It is always fun to use my
                                                                    prettiest teapots and teacups.

I will be picking bouquets

from the garden.

There are a limited number of tickets

available but I hope you can make it.

The cost is $20. a ticket and

   all the proceeds will be donated

as in the past.

Sunshine Yellow Afternoon Tea

   Hello everyone,

  I hope your week is going well.

Lately, I seem to be drawn to sunny

yellows so this thrift shop yellow

gingham tablecloth was my inspiration

for today's afternoon tea.

I gathered up some casual china and

picked a wildflower bouquet for the

table.

                                                                       Lemon chamomile tea and
                                                                       a macaroon for a treat.
                                                                       A vintage hankie is a napkin
                                                                       here.

                                                                      After tea I have a couple of books to enjoy.

                                                                The hand made yellow patchwork
                                                                pillow is also a thrift find.

                                                                        Yellow is such a happy color!

                                                           I love this pretty yellow home in
                                                                      York and thought how pretty my
                                                                       tea would look with it in the background
                                                                       so I just made a collage of the two.....did
                                                                       I have you fooled for a minute?

                                                                      I am joining BNOTP for
                                                                      Tablescape Thursday today.

A Gingham Garden Tea

                                                                         Hello everyone,

                                                            It is mainly cloudy here but warm
                                                            enough to enjoy a casual afternoon
                                                            tea in the garden.

                                                                     I made strawberry shortcakes
                                                                     and iced tea for our tea today.

                                                                      The delphiniums are attracting the
                                                                       hummingbirds so it is nice to watch
                                                                       them flutter from flower to flower.

                                                                       A casual country garden setting.

I do enjoy strawberry shortcake

with homemade biscuits and

whipped cream.

                                                                  The picnic basket was a gift
                                                                   from my sister in law several
                                                                   years ago.

                                                     Sit and chat for awhile and enjoy
                                                                the beauty of nature all around!
