Garden Vignettes

 Happy Friday!

      When I was coming in from the garden

   a couple of nights ago I looked back

and saw the sun setting behind the

cottage and wanted to capture the

    evening light in this garden vignette,

                                                            So, I had to snap a few more quick shots
                                                            but I am noticing the evenings are getting
                                                            shorter.
                                                       

                                                                   Lots of hydrangeas and phlox
                                                                   blooming now.

                                                                  A basket of flowers I planted
                                                                  up in the spring has done reasonably
                                                                 well with not a lot of care.......it is on
                                                                 the north side so it doesn't dry out as
                                                                 quickly.

                                                                        As I was removing some plant
                                                                        tops that were dying back I had
                                                                        a hole to fill so this chair got moved
                                                                        in to add a little color.

                                                              I took this shot a couple of
                                                             weeks ago so the clematis is
                                                             not as prolific right now.This
                                                             little garden room is tucked in
                                                             at the south of the Gardener's Cottage.

                         As usual, I never seem to get all

                                   around the garden ....maybe next time.

Garden Snippets

                                                                                Hello everyone,


                                                          It was a beautiful day today for working
                                                          out in the garden so I enjoyed several
                                                          hours of tidying things up a bit as some
                                                          plants needed to be cut back etc.
                                                          I love this time of year when the temperature
                                                          is warm but not too hot and the air is clear.....
                                                          much better for working in the garden.

                                                                     So, as I worked my way around
                                                                     I picked snippets here and there to
                                                                     enjoy in a small vase indoors.

Blue & White Transferware Tea and Garden

                                                                       
                                                                            Hello everyone,
                                                   
                                                         I hope you all enjoyed the long Labor Day
                                                         weekend. We had beautiful weather here so
                                                         we enjoyed a couple of Island day trips.
                                                           

                                                     

                                                                          My healthy snack ~ coconut yogurt
                                                                          and fresh picked berries.

                                                                      Blue and white transferware
                                                                      looks pretty any time of the
                                                                      year.

                                                                 I like this color combo in the
                                                                 garden rosy pink phlox,clematis
                                                                 and limelight hydrangea.

                                                                 This clematis had an abundance
                                                                 of flowers this year.  

                                                      The new arbor that Andrew built
                                                                 last year has already blended
                                                                 into the garden.

Tea with Miss Lila

       Hello everyone,

             We are enjoying such beautiful weather 

              here that I want to be outdoors as much as

possible.

    However, I did enjoy spending time with

Miss Lila who loves to dress up and play

tea time.

Lila is our six year old granddaughter.

The beautiful little vintage white dress

was a sweet thrift find.

                                                                               hats.

                  Lila is definitely a girly girl.

                         Lila loves her baby dolls and took

                     them with her for her sleepover.

                   So sweet!

           Lila, it sure was fun spending time

with you this week.

       Next week all our grandchildren

are back to school so another

    summer vacation is almost over.

Pretty Bouquets

                                                                         Hello everyone,

                                                          Just a few soft and pretty bouquets
                                                          to share today.

                                                                    I love both of these old
                                                                    transferware pitchers.

                                                                       Hydrangeas and roses from the garden.

                                                    I have been a bit absent lately as we are enjoying
                                                               some time with our grandchildren before they go
                                                              back to school next week. Summer is coming to a
                                                              close soon.
